Probiotic to contribute to a natural healthy gut flora. Provides live microorganisms that temporarily modify gut flora. Probiotics that temporarily modify gut flora. Source of probiotics. Probiotics to supplement the normal intestinal microbiota following antibiotic therapy. Adult and children over 11 years only: Probiotics to significantly reduce symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome. Adults and children over 11 years only: Helps improve symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) such as bloating, satisfaction with bowel habits, and days with pain within 6 weeks.
 
Probiotic formula for intensive use, providing 25 billion CFU per serving. Formulated based on strains shown to be effective in colonizing the intestinal environment. It is also suitable for long-term maintenance regimes.
 
HMF Intensive Powder provides four strains of proprietary human-sourced probiotics that help promote intestinal health in children and adults. Lactobacilli and Bifidobacteria are the most commonly used probiotics. They are safe, effectively colonize the intestines, and decrease the entry of bacteria from the intestines into circulation. Probiotics reinforce the epithelial barrier, which allows the absorbance of selected compounds and promotes the excretion of dangerous substances. Probiotics control intestinal permeability by mediating the integrity of tight junctions, and prevent pathogenic adherence to cells by increasing the release of mucin on intestinal surfaces.1 In addition to their barrier effects, probiotics decrease pathogen survival by increasing the release of anti-microbial peptides from host cells. Although the microflora composition in the gut is relatively steady, it can be altered by diet, stress, age and medication. Probiotics promote the presence of beneficial bacteria to maintain the health and normal function of the intestines.

Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis (CUL-34)
 

Non-Medicinal Ingredients: Cellulose, Microcrystalline, Hypromellose, Monobasic potassium phosphate, Potassium phosphate, dibasic, Sucrose, Trehalose

Purity: contains no added wheat, starch, corn, sodium, sugar, artificial coloring or flavoring or antimicrobial preservatives. Ideal for vegetarians. The capsules are made from 100% pure vegetable sources, free of preservatives and additives.

Recommended Dose: Adults, Adolescents and Children (3 years and older): In a glass, add water or milk to one scoop of HMF Intensive Powder and mix. Take once daily with a meal, at least two to three hours before or after taking antibiotics, or as recommended by your healthcare practitioner.

Label claim will be met if unrefrigerated up to three months. 

Cautions: If symptoms of digestive upset occur, worsen or persist beyond three days, discontinue use and consult your health care practitioner. If you are experiencing nausea, fever, vomiting, bloody diarrhoea or severe abdominal pain, consult your healthcare practitioner prior to use.

Extensive product testing and new freeze drying technology performed by Genestra,was concluded that the ice pack did not make a difference during shipping since the product potency was still well over 100% label claims when shipped with ice or no ice. The manufacturer states that it is no longer necessary to ship the HMF products with an ice pack.

It is highly recommended to take your probiotics with you on all trips and vacations since their potency will last for up to 3 months at room temperature un-refrigerated. But, when possible and if convenient, we recommend you store your probiotics in the freezer or refrigerator, especially if you plan to preserve freshness of your product for months or years.
