AOR Lactoferrin 250 mg - 60 Veg Capsules

Your Immune System's Best Kept Secret. Immune support, Anti-Inflammatory, Iron deficiency, Antioxidant, Anti-tumour

Aor Lactoferrin provides Superior immune system support, helps to improve iron absorption, Clinically proven safe in infants, the elderly and the immune-compromised, and it is sourced from New Zealand dairy.

Lactoferrin is an iron transporter glycoprotein originally isolated from bovine milk. Lactoferrin contains 703 amino acids and has a molecular weight of 80 kDaltons.  Lactoferrin is found in various mammalian secretions e.g. saliva, tears and milk.  Lactoferrin provides antioxidants for the maintenance of good health.

Lactoferrin is an iron-binding glycoprotein found in human milk and bovine milk that has powerful immune boosting effects. Its multifunctional role also encompasses antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, antioxidant, and immunomodulatory activities. Lactoferrin has been used successfully with chemotherapy to improve the immunity of cancer patients and to reduce the treatment side effects. Neonatal units successfully use lactoferrin to help reduce infection in hospitals, and baby formulas manufactured in China are now being supplemented with lactoferrin. Being an immunomodulator, lactoferrin helps manage the inflammatory response. Inflammatory conditions that can benefit from lactoferrin include high cholesterol, gastrointestinal inflammation, respiratory tract inflammation and acne. Lactoferrin may also stimulate the cells responsible for bone growth.

Supplementation with lactoferrin has helped increase the phagocytic activity of immune cells known as leukocytes and stimulate the production of natural killers cells in the immune system. Neutrophils contain lactoferrin to bind iron, an essential nutrient for bacterial growth. Lactoferrin is effective both in acidic or alkaline pH.

Bone Health: Lactoferrin helps to increase bone formation through the stimulation of osteoblasts. The molecule increased osteoblast differentiation and reduced osteoblast cellular death by 50-70%. Studies have shown that lactoferrin binds to cultured osteoblastic cells and leads to their proliferation and cellular division.

Infection: Taking lactoferrin assists the body with its ability to fight infections. Lactoferrin can not only help to prevent infections in the digestive system but also in other parts of the body. In participants who took lactoferrin, it helped them overcome infections caused by hepatitis C and the Heliobacter pylori bacteria. In other individuals  lactoferrin helped to inhibit the infection of human embryonic lung cells by both herpes and cytomegaloviruses. In mice, 70% of the lactoferrin-pretreated mice survived the intravenous administration of E coli if they were 1st given lactoferrin, in the control group, only 4% of the animals survived.

Inflammation: Lactoferrin assists to reduce inflammation due to its unique and potent inflammatory properties. As an essential protein with multiple functions, lactoferrin provides the immune systems with a first line of protection. At local infection sites, the protein has proved that it can reduce inflammation in both the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts.

Acne: Reduced levels of lactoferrin may fuel the inflammatory processes involved with acne. Patients who were affected from seborrheic blepharitis and acne rosacea, possessed a lowered concentration of lactoferrin within their tears. Blepharitis is an itchy, inflamed condition that causes red eyelids along with the presence of scales appearing like dandruff on the eyelashes. If lactoferrin prevents the bacteria causing the acne from receiving necessary iron, the bacteria starve and acne shows an overall improvement.

Lactoferrin is a multitasking protein with several biological roles. Lactoferrin has been found to have antimycotic, antiviral, antineoplastic, antibacterial, antifungal, immunomodulating and anti-inflammatory activity. Lactoferrin also binds to some toxins and promotes the growth of certain cells. It is helpful for wound healing. It inhibits microbial growth and plays an important role in the formation of the newborn's intestinal flora by preventing the growth of enteropathogenic organisms.

The anti-oxidant and antibacterial activity of lactoferrin comes from its ability to bind iron; iron is a well-known oxidant and its presence is essential for bacterial growth. Lactoferrin prevents the attachment of bacteria to the intestinal wall thus preventing infection. Lactoferricin, a breakdown product of bovine lactoferrin is thought to inhibit viral cell fusion and viral access to cells. The immunomodulatory effects of lactoferrin come from its capacity at promoting T cell growth and differentiation as well as its role in the regulation of cytokines.

Lactoferrin can help in the absorption and transport of iron, manganese, zinc and sugars. It is very important for the proper composition of the intestinal flora; it stimulates the production of gut endothelial cells and prevents the growth of pathogenic organisms while promoting the spread of the beneficial Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium species. Hence its addition to baby formulas.

Whether it is to improve nutrient absorption, promote healthy gut bacteria or enhance your immune system and prevent bacterial and viral activity, lactoferrin is a great choice for anyone who wants to boost their immunity can take this supplement for extra protection against illness and infection. Lactoferrin contains no lactose and contains little to no casein, so it is safe for those with a lactose intolerance who want to reap some of the benefits of dairy without having to consume lactose-containing dairy products.

It's my first time using these vitamins. So hopefully it'll help my immune system better for the skin, hair etc...I usually break out or have imperfections on my skin. So hopefully this will improve. But thanks to the fast paste service, I was able to receive my vitamins on time.

If I were to order some other different vitamins, I'd do so on this website healthpalace.
