EQUAZEN is a scientifically proven natural health product. It contains fatty acids, EPA, DHA and GLA, in a 9:3:1 ratio. EQUAZEN has been studied in children and adolescents with ADHD and found to improve their concentration levels.
Why are fatty acids important for the brain?
Dietary fats are part of our everyday diet. They belong to a larger group of compounds called lipids. Lipids help build our cell membranes and are vital to our central nervous system – making up about 50-60% of the weight of our brain!
Of these brain lipids, approximately 35% are made up of polyunsaturated fatty acids, which include Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. They are important to brain development and functioning. But because they cannot be made or stored by your body and must be provided by food or supplements, they are called essential fatty acids (EFA). Lower ranges of these EFAs are linked to impairment in cognitive function.
Today, in many countries, the typical diet may not be optimal in these EFAs. Equazen provides a balanced supplementation of Omega-3 (EPA, DHA) and Omega-6 (GLA) fatty acids, which at the ratio of EPA:DHA:GLA=9:3:1 have been scientifically proven to improve concentration levels in children and adolescents with ADHD.

EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid):
EPA is the precursor of DHA and other lipid compounds (eicosanoids) in the body. It can be obtained from oily fish or fish oil such as cod liver oil, herring, sardines and mackerel.
DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid):
DHA is the most abundant omega-3 fatty acid in the brain and retina. Many studies support its functions on cognitive health and brain function.
GLA (Gamma linolenic acid): GLA is an omega-6 oil derived from primrose oil. It has been used for centuries in homeopathic remedies in native America.
